Teresa received her Master’s of Arts (MA) in Gerontology and has worked in care management and elder care for over 25 years. She is a certified care manager (CMC) and member in good standing of the Aging Life Care Professionals Association since 2005. Additionally, Teresa is Florida Assisted Living Facility Core Certified, a Certified Dementia Practitioner, and a Positive Approach to Care Approved Trainer.

Having seen first hand how family dynamics can affect the care of an older adult, Teresa was drawn to the study of Gerontology. She enjoys the opportunity to assist other families on their journey when faced with the challenges brought on by aging and eldercare. Teresa believes she accomplishes this through respect and compassion, combined with education and knowledge.

Teresa has extensive and diverse experience in aging services throughout Tampa Bay, the UK and North Carolina. In addition to many years providing care management and advocacy, Teresa has worked in various roles at care facilities and public aging agencies. She brings this experience to help the care management team at EasyLiving continue to improve services, manage complex cases and evolve to serve clients and families with a range of needs.

Teresa was born in the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina and moved to the Tampa Bay area, where her husband is from, for opportunities to work with older adults. Outside of work, she most enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, watching movies and going on long walks. Teresa is an active member of her church and participates in their crafter’s group. She has previously led Alzheimer’s support groups and served on the Area Agency on Aging advisory council.
