Falling into Fun: Top Activities for Fall in Florida

fall in floridaFall in Florida is a beautiful time. Floridians often feel cooped up inside during the hot summer months when we hide from the intense heat. When cooler temperatures roll around in October, it’s the perfect time to enjoy more outdoor activities and all the festivals and fun that come with fall in Florida

Festivals and Special Events During Fall in Florida

Clearwater Jazz Holiday (October 13-16): Jazz fans and music lovers will truly love this four-day event held on a beautiful site in Clearwater. People travel to attend this festival and hear some amazing headliners, so we Floridians are lucky to have it right in our backyard (and it’s been happening for 37 years!). Visit the website for the lineup, tickets and more.

The 35th annual John’s Pass Seafood and Music Festival (October 27-30) is always held the last full weekend in October (when we start getting some of the most beautiful weather of fall in Florida). It includes a huge seafood selection, an arts and crafts fair, and free concerts. There’s a lot of fun for the whole family and a fishing tournament too!

St. Petersburg’s Ribfest is a three-day charity festival featuring a lot of amazing food as well as top bands. Proceeds go to youth-oriented causes. It can be quite crowded, so get there early. You can bring small lawn chairs or rent a chair for $5/day. For those needing accessibility help, they have contact information on their home page so caregivers/families can plan ahead.

Check your local municipality’s calendar for many more fun events! Here are a few links to help:
